Chris Rose is a musician and teacher from Northeastern Pennsylvania. An avid wanderer, he has served as Assistant Principal Trumpet of the Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra, taught music in the North Star Borough School District, performed with orchestras in Italy, Sweden, South Korea, and around the United States, and played trumpet and piano aboard Cunard, Crystal, and Royal Caribbean ocean liners.

His travels took him most recently to Vermont as part of the Marlboro Music Festival and to Colorado for the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Summer Jazz Workshop. Further travels include Copenhagen, Denmark as a freelance artist, South Korea’s Gumi International Music Festival, New York’s Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival, and two tours with Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra of the USA.

Chris holds an M.M. in orchestral performance from Roosevelt University and a B.F.A. in music performance from Carnegie Mellon University. He studied additionally at the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg, Sweden and at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He is a 2017 Marta Sanchez Dalcroze Training Center Certificate candidate and a credentialed K-12 music educator.

Chris has served as an Associate Editor for the
Dalcroze Society of America, and promotes Dalcroze Education in the United States. When he is not writing or performing, Chris can be found in the classroom, and has been blessed to teach students from kindergarten through university age. He proudly worked as a Teaching Artist for the New York non-profit Empire State Youth Orchestra and currently teaches Dalcroze Eurhythmics at Bennington College. A passionate trail runner, Chris resides in North Bennington, VT.
